Te’mexw Treaty Association Signs Agreement in Principle

JFK Law congratulates the Te’mexw Treaty Association (TTA) on the signing of its Agreement in Principle with Canada and British Columbia today.

The TTA is comprised of five member First Nations: Beecher Bay, Songhees, Snaw-naw-as, Malahat, and T’Sou-ke. The Agreement in Principle is the result of tripartite negotiations between TTA, Canada and BC through the BC Treaty Process and will form the foundation of the Final Agreement. Today’s ceremony in the Songhees Wellness Centre is a significant milestone in a long journey and a momentous occasion for the Te’mexw Member First Nations chiefs, councils and community members.

JFK is proud and honoured to work with the TTA and looks forward to collaborating with the TTA negotiating team as the parties move toward a final agreement.

Here are some of our favourite moments from the ceremony.
