Avery is excited to spend part of her articling term working from JFK’s Vancouver. She joins on secondment from Ecojustice Canada.
Avery graduated with her J.D. from the Peter A. Allard School of Law in 2024. Prior to attending law school, Avery attended Western University and graduated with a dual degree in international relations and business. During her undergraduate studies, Avery worked for a social finance non-profit and co-founded a grassroots environmental advocacy group.
While at law school, Avery served as a clinician at the International Justice and Human Rights Clinic, competed in the Jessup International Law Moot, and volunteered with Pro Bono Students Canada to develop a plain language legal guide for residents of northern British Columbia. She also worked as a research assistant for several professors at the law school, conducting research across a range of topics such as environmental law, criminal law, and constitutional law.
In her spare time, Avery enjoys cooking, live music, and spending time outdoors.
