JFK’s Karine Millaire for Radio-Canada: L’annulation des élections à Kanesatake rejetée par la Cour fédérale

La Cour fédérale a déclaré hier déraisonnable la décision d’annuler les élections de Kanesatake d’août 2025 et a ordonné que le Mohawks of Kanesatake Custom Electoral Code soit respecté. Le message est clair : “the role of the Chief Electoral Officer is to apply the law, not to make the law. If it were otherwise, the self-government of the community would be thwarted” (Mohawk Council of Kanesatake v. Drew 2026 FC 1203, par.16)
