The University of Ottawa Faculty of Law is honoured to host the 2027 Kawaskimhon National Aboriginal Moot. Established at the University of Toronto in 1994, the Kawaskimhon Moot is a unique national gathering that brings together law students from faculties of law across Canada to engage with complex and evolving Indigenous legal issues. Hosted each year by a different Canadian law school, the moot provides a distinctive, consensus-based, non-adversarial experience that integrates Indigenous legal traditions with federal, provincial, and international law.
