After graduating from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law, Alexander articled and worked as an associate at a law firm in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, where his practice included assisting with a proposed class action lawsuit brought by Innu Nation and three Innu individuals against Canada and Newfoundland and Labrador to compensate for harms suffered due to the operation of day schools in Labrador, as well as working with Innu parents who were participating in the Inquiry into the Treatment, Experiences and Outcomes of Innu in the Child Protection System.
Alexander is a settler who lives on land covered by the Toronto Purchase Treaty, No. 13. Beyond law, Alexander writes screenplays, composes and plays music, and spends an inordinate amount of time in cinemas.
