Isabelle’s practice is diverse, with a strong focus on advocating for her clients’ rights. She is particularly passionate about advancing the recognition of Indigenous laws and legal orders within the Canadian court system. Isabelle represents Indigenous communities—including band councils, businesses, individuals, and other entities—in disputes related to Aboriginal and treaty rights, land claims, the duty to consult, and natural resource development. She is equally dedicated to supporting her clients’ pursuit of self-determination and self-governance, with a focus on reaching effective, collaborative solutions through negotiation.
She has experience representing clients before all levels of court, including the Superior Court of Québec, the Court of Appeal of Québec, and the Federal Court. Isabelle also regularly engages with provincial and federal government authorities and industry proponents in negotiations.
Before joining JFK, Isabelle gained valuable experience at a leading national firm, where she worked in Aboriginal and Indigenous law, as well as civil, commercial, and construction litigation. She also clerked at the Federal Court, where she developed a deep understanding of federal law.
Isabelle is a settler living on Ndakina, the W8banaki Nation’s unceded traditional territory. Outside of work, Isabelle is an avid skier, mountain biker and triathlete and enjoys going on outdoor adventures with her dog, Nibi.
