Kaelyn Fountain is an Associate at JFK Law’s Victoria office. She works with First Nations on rights assertion, advocacy, and the negotiation of jurisdictional, relationship and economic agreements. Her practice includes supporting Indigenous clients in consultation processes and the development of governance and decision-making frameworks that advance self-determination and long-term community priorities.

Kaelyn brings hands-on experience negotiating with international corporations and various levels of governments. She is known for her practical, collaborative approach and for tailoring legal strategies to reflect each Nation’s unique goals, values, and legal context.

Before joining JFK Law, Kaelyn practiced at a Vancouver-based, full-service litigation firm. She has appeared before the Provincial Court of British Columbia, Supreme Court of British Columbia and the British Columbia Human Rights Tribunal, achieving successful outcomes in trials, arbitrations, and judicial reviews. Kaelyn’s courtroom experience provides her with a strong understanding of the broader legal landscape in which negotiations, advocacy, and rights-based strategies operate.

Kaelyn earned her Juris Doctor from the Peter A. Allard School of Law at the University of British Columbia, where she also obtained a Certificate in Indigenous Cultural Competency. During law school, she studied Indigenous legal traditions and Indigenous economic development, and worked with several legal clinics serving diverse communities.

Outside of practice, Kaelyn enjoys camping, hiking, reading, and checking out local restaurants.
