Katie acts for First Nations and Inuit across Canada, with particular emphasis on Ontario and Quebec.
Throughout her legal career, she has worked in private practice, as in-house counsel for a Modern Treaty organization, and in social and environmental justice organizations. She has appeared before trial and appellate courts, including the Supreme Court of Canada.
Katie has worked extensively on Pre-Confederation, Historic, and Modern Treaties. She has represented Indigenous groups in negotiations regarding Indigenous governance, fiscal financing, co-management, land claims, land use planning, the development of nuclear projects and radioactive waste management, and commercial and real estate development.
